A CASED PAIR OF 40-BORE FLINTLOCK POCKET PISTOLS SIGNED KENT AVERY & CO., LONDON, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1820, with expertly rebrowned octagonal smoothbore 2 3/4in. barrels, the top-flats marked '63 NEW BOND ST LONDON', platinum line and lined vent at breech, fully engraved top-tangs, slightly curved border engraved diminutive locks with stepped tails and signed 'KENT AVERY & CO' below the rainproof pans, swan-necked cocks with bolted safes, rollers to the frizzen springs, walnut full stocks with finely chequered bag-shaped butts and horn fore-end tips, blued iron furniture and brass mounted mahogany rammers, in a probable later mahogany casing lined and compartmented in green coarse baize and including a single spare rifled barrel of the same form (unsigned), a three-way flask, scissors mould, boxwood flint-pot and loading rod
